Wedding Video!

Daniel and I just got to watch the rough edited footage for our wedding video, and I nearly cried whilst at work. SO---I've decided to take a mini second and update here. Life has certainly been hectic, but mainly fun. Being married is fun. It's a lot like being unmarried (speaking for Daniel and I, here), but I guess that's what we're blessed with when you get to marry your best friend. It doesn't change much, and thank God for that.

We're two months in being married so far, and there have and will be many changes coming soon. For starters, we're remodeling our kitchen in the next upcoming months, and Daniel has been full of great ideas on how to reconfigure our small kitchen space. We can't decide between white cabinets and white countertops with dark floors versus a lighter floor and darker cabinet route. I'm really pushing the all white kitchen and dark floors, but along with marriage comes compromise. We still have to go to tile/stone stores and look at our options, and I'm really hoping my excellent real estate sales negotiation skills will come in handy when trying to convince Daniel with what I want. I keep telling him, 'happy wife, happy life, right?' I can only dream...wait. My birthdays next month. Birthday present, husband? :)

On another note, more exciting news. <drum roll, please>

Daniel got a new job!

He was approached by a recruiter---as he always does since he's basically one of the smartest people I know and is a wealth of knowledge and expertise---and another drum roll, please---

Daniel's the new Assistant Vice President for Lehman Brothers Holdings! AHHHHH!!!!
How sexy is that? He's in charge of managing commercial assets. SUCH. A. STUD. (swoooooon)

Seriously, though, I can't believe how blessed I am we are. We're both super excited for this new venture in life. Best of all---I'm just thankful he's relocated to somewhere right down the street from where we live.

In any case, time to get back down to business at work. See y'all soon--and if you're lucky--perhaps Daniel will make a guest appearance. Wow wow wee wow.

Oh--and if you return tomorrow---WE'LL HAVE OUR WEDDING VIDEO UP FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE!!!!! (P.S. Made these lil' puppies below yesterday for fun. Chocolate macarons with chocolate raspberry ganache!)

Korean Banchan & Homemade Hot Sauce!

Daniel and I are watching Man v. Food right now and this dude is taking down what looks like butt tearing, explosive diarrhea inducing chicken wings. Yowzas! Anyway, since I manage my own schedule in real estate, I decided to clear my whole Thursday and dedicate my time to cooking in the kitchen. We had some packages of Korean sliced beef in the fridge, so I decided to make some banchan (side dishes) for a homecooked Korean bbq dinner! On top of that, I bought a few handfuls of habanero peppers to make my own hot sauce. I am a hot sauce FIEND and I can go through bottles in days, so I figured I might as well try making my own hot sauce concoction.

The verdict? It's freaking the spiciest thing I think I've ever eaten---but DELICIOUS. Bring on them stomach cramps!

Up next---going to my girlfriends wedding this weekend in Laguna Beach. I'm a bridesmaid so we get to hang out all day tomorrow in Looney Beach---eat dinner at Rock n' Fish, then celebrate her nuptials on Saturday. I can't wait!!!

With that--I photobomb you with all my cooking photos from today. Enjoy!

Garlic, cilantro, onion, and habanero directly into a giant bowl with some secret juices and my immersion blender = #icansellthisstuff
First banchan was a braised tofu with garlic, onions, shrimp paste, honey, and chicken stock
After the stock began to simmer, I added the onions and a chopped serrano pepper.
Tossed some sesame seeds after plating and ta da!
Kimchi "pancake" with chopped kimchi, onions, garlic, flour, water and spices
Pan fry, adding dollops of the mix and flattening to ensure a nice flat pancake!
Cooked up to a crisp. Yummmmm.
Glazed potatoes with onion, garlic, and a soy sauce honey mix
Sear the potatoes first until light brown and then add in rest of the ingredients.
Voila!

Moms Birthday!

Our homemade boiling crab dinner at our house was a success!

13 lbs of shrimp
26 red potatoes
4 lbs of kielbasa
Endless cloves of garlic and
3 giant platters

We had 13 guests over---6 of my moms closest friends at her request, and even my sisters bf drove all the way down to celebrate!

Happy birthday, mumsy. You are wonderful and we love you!
